Hull starts off 2017 with a BANG!

It has been 4 years since Hull was announced the UK City of Culture for 2017 and we have already witnessed in the first 12 days what an exciting year lies ahead. It all started with a bang with a fantastic fireworks display coupled with an inspiring light show that projected the history of Hull on the Town Hall and Ferens Art Gallery. Reading statistics that over 342,000 people visited #MadeInHull last week, it just shows how the City of Hull is already buzzing and it’s only just started. Due to our nature of business, we were incredibly impressed with the sheer operation of transporting a Wind Turbine Blade, made by Siemens, that measures 75m in length and weighs 25 tonnes through the narrow city centre streets in order to exhibit this amazing piece of modern engineering. Materials handling equipment will be pivotal in so many of the operations and events that will be happening across the city throughout 2017 and Barek will be playing its part in making it an unforgettable year.
