It was not that long ago when people would say “It’s only dull in Hull” and the majority of city reviews you would read would unanimously state it as being “miserable” and “smelling of fish”. Oh how the tides have now turned, with Hull being mentioned for all the right reasons and positivity is now flowing all the way down the River Humber. Hull was voted the UK City of Culture 2017 which plans to be 365 days of transformative cultural activity and we were pleased to watch Hull City be promoted back to the top flight of professional football after a nail biting 1-0 win over local Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday. It was also not that long ago that Siemens confirmed they would be investing £160m in a new motor blade manufacturing facility, project construction, assembly and service facility.
Regeneration work is in progress all across the City, most notably around the unique Fruit Market region which is undergoing an £80m transformation, turning it into a vibrant, exciting and cultural urban village. All this construction work both in the retail and residential sectors is bringing an influx of both jobs and excitement to the city.
