Barek Lift Trucks is proud to be a sponsor of local charity The Daisy Appeal. This very important local charity was established in year 2000 by Nick Stafford – a Head and Neck Surgeon and Director of Hull’s Postgraduate Medical Institute. The charity has one overarching function – to create better health outcomes for patients across the region by enabling quicker diagnosis of cancer, heart disease and dementia.
The charity has already greatly improved research and treatment facilities for people in the Hull and East Yorkshire region with the building of an £8m facility at Castle Hill Hospital which opened in 2008. This centre provides scientific laboratory facilities, a clinical trials unit, teaching accommodation and an environment which eminent Hull researchers base their studies.
The Daisy appeal is now pushing its Phase 2 initiative to purchase a PET-CT scanner and two cyclotron units – which make the radio tracers that help early diagnosis.
