Barek Lift Trucks Achieves UKMHA Audit Re-Certification
Many companies can hire or sell you a forklift truck—and most will claim to be the best. Few can back it up with proof.
Barek Lift Trucks can.
As an award-winning TCM Dealer, we are proud to have once again achieved audit re-certification from the UK’s leading authority on materials handling: the UK Material Handling Association (UKMHA).
The UKMHA Audit is designed for forklift truck dealers of all sizes—from start-ups to multi-depot operations. Its purpose is to ensure consistently high standards across every aspect of business operations, including safety, health, environmental management, and risk control.
In an industry where safety is paramount, the audit goes beyond a simple checklist. Unlike many accreditations that rely solely on online questionnaires, it is a rigorous, independent assessment conducted on-site by a UKMHA Compliance Manager. The process evaluates over 100 criteria, focusing on legal obligations, working procedures, and best practices. This sets the benchmark for professionalism, quality, and customer assurance in the forklift industry.
Even companies already accredited under ISO, Safe Contractor, or Achilles recognise the unique value of the UKMHA Audit, as it covers critical areas that other schemes often overlook.

The audit was conducted by UKMHA Compliance Manager Lee Medway, who explains the importance of the process:
“The audit is designed to give customers real peace of mind. As an UKMHA audit accredited company, they know that Barek Lift Trucks has measured up to an industry-led health check, works to standards demonstrably higher than unaccredited companies and removes a potentially weak link in your chain of traceability and accountability.”
On behalf of the management of Barek Lift Trucks:
“Achieving UKMHA re-certification is not just a recognition of compliance—it reflects our dedication to providing excellence in everything we do. This achievement is the result of the hard work, professionalism, and teamwork of our entire staff, who consistently go above and beyond to deliver the highest standards of service.
Continuous improvement is at the heart of our business. By regularly reviewing and refining our operations, we ensure that our customers benefit from quality products, reliable support and robust safety standards.”
